LOST OR DAMAGED MUSEUM ITEMS

As space is at a premium within the University, storage for the Museum collection is difficult to find - and keep. Over the years, some items have been moved between locations within St Lucia, and in late 2006 the majority of the collection was moved to a P&F store at Ipswich.

Removalists have, at times, wrapped adhesive packing tape around equipment in order to keep cabinet doors closed. Of course, when the tape is removed, it either rips the paintwork off the equipment, or else leaves the adhesive behind, which is usually very difficult to remove.

When the collection was moved to Ipswich, some items were left behind (for reasons unknown). These items were then dumped in the skip on P&F instructions.
